As a Lincoln high student I pledge to be the best student I can be and prove that all the bad stereotypes of my race and school wrong. Basically when I came to Lincoln everyone thought and continues to think that i'm not going to make it because this school has a really bad reputation. What nobody knows is that Lincoln has changed a lot throughout the years. It is now a new and remodeled school with more opportunities. People doubted this school and basically my race. Mexicans tend to populate in really bad jobs, ruining there future, and not having good grades. Many racial kids, teens, and adults have a really good future ahead of them but the problem is that society only focuses on the all the bad things. For me I really want a good future because I have many goals and promises that I have and want to do. I want to be a criminal justice secretary worker and help others work out there problems and have them come to me and let all there problems and emotions out. I will succeed by always doing my work, having good grade scores, and listening to my teachers.
I want to prove that Mexicans and any other races are capable of doing many things. Not just because a sterotype says something does not mean that's you. It all depends on the student. Sometimes they get lazy and when opportunities come they don't see them. Lincoln is known to only have professional athletes graduating with more chances but I want to come out of Lincoln as a person who is really good for what they want to study and knows what they want to have a future. I feel like I can prove society wrong and graduate from Lincoln with good grades a good GPA and a good career ahead of me. My life goal is to graduate as a Valedictorian no matter how many obstacles come towards my way.
In shorter words some mexicans do have the capacity to be something or someone in the future but it depends on them. Society does not make who you are. "My pledge to my family and school is that I will the best student I can be and prove wrong stereotypes."
